Getting Started with SecurityNet

New to SecurityNet?
Start here. These short videos walk you through installation and first-time setup.

Follow these steps to connect securely with your first contact.

  • Install SecurityNet
Purchase a plan from the website, install SecurityNet, and start building your own Private Network. As the License Owner you can invite trusted contacts to join you.

Alternatively, you can join an existing Private Network as a shared licensee by using the invitation link provided by your License Owner.

Security Note:
During installation, Windows or macOS may display security prompts. This is normal when installing new software from the internet or outside an app store. SecurityNet is digitally signed, and these prompts are part of your operating system's built-in protection.

By choosing a P2P solution like SecurityNet over a 'big box' cloud app, you are taking direct control of your software environment—these OS prompts are simply the first step in that ownership.

If you see a security prompt during installation, follow the steps shown in the video — this is expected behaviour.

  • Log In and Connect
Log in using your SecurityNet ID and Password

If authorization is required, wait for the License Owner to approve your request.

  • Send and Receive Files Between Contacts
You can now send and receive files securely between trusted contacts.

You're now ready to securely exchange files with your trusted contacts.
